Our ecosystem ponds are designed to be an environmentally friendly, self-sustaining, low maintenance and truly a one of a kind, works of art in your garden. An Ecosystem pond is a pond that works with mother nature to create an environment for the smallest micro-organisms to your fish. It provides food, shelter, and safety for the wildlife in and around it. We aim to create your own little piece of paradise for you. With the beautiful sounds of trickling water attracting countless species of wild life, e.g. birds, butterflies, and dragonfly to name but a few. Water is the lifeblood of the planet after all? no two ecosystem ponds are identical, so why not sit back, relax and watch the fish, plants and wildlife enjoy your pond as much as you do.
An Ecosystem pond is made up of 5 essential components, Biological filter, Mechanical filter, Aquatic plants, Rock and Gravel, and finally Fish. Each one of these needs the other to fulfil its job in the ecosystem. The mechanical filter we use is an Aquascape skimmer, this houses all pumps and plumbing, helping naturalise the look of the pond but its main job is to skim the surface of the pond of any surface debris such as leaves. Another reason we skim the surface is that we then feed that oxygen rich water to the biological filter, ensuring that the beneficial bacterias in the Bio-Falls have the optimum amount of oxygen to thrive and do their job of turning excess nutrients, such as fish waste into a source of food for aquatic plants and ensuring excellent quality of water for your fish. Rock and gravel help naturalise the look of the pond from just been a black liner, but again they have a job to do! Rock and gravel, been a natural product have a huge amount of surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise, but also provide a habitat for the aquatic insects that are crucial to breaking down any waste that gets past the skimmer, they break down the larger solids ready for the bacterias to break down further, these insects then also provide a natural nutritious food source for your fish!

These designs are for people who love clean straight lines, maybe a raised pond with a window. We can construct them out of many materials, such as timber sleepers, or natural stone walling. THIS IS WHERE WE STAND OUT FROM THE OTHERS… our knowledge of water chemistry and balance puts us in a position where we can create your pond with the ecosystem approach confined within the clean sleek lines of the contemporary look. Imagine looking through your glass window into a natural aquarium, filled with fish, and all parts of the natural wildlife a pond attracts, seeing the dappled sunlight penetrating through your water lilies, onto a natural looking pond or stream. Our filtration is also natural. Using Constructed Wetland Bog filters instead of traditional black box filters, we can construct your filter to be a quick once a year clean! There is no need for ultra violet lights (UV) as these destroy the critical beneficial bacterias that help keep the pond healthy, generally we use one economical pump to run the whole system, its cheap on the electric bill as well. In our opinion, even the best ponds are enhanced with classy, underwater and garden lights, WHAT ABOUT FIRE? YES YOU CAN HAVE THAT AS WELL!! Our illumination packages transform gardens and ponds, they extend the viewing pleasure during those cold winter months, but also add dramatic viewing during the evenings when your sat beside your pond with a beverage of your liking. My personal favourite is the evenings in the warmer months, I have my Fire Urn on, watching the fish with the lights in my pond, and highlights of my waterfall, the frogs start croaking, the birds are singing my little girl is in bed and me and my wife can sit and relax. ABSOLUTE TRANQUILITY.
